Studying in Canada, What you need to know.

Studying in Canada is a great opportunity and can be very exciting, but you also need to do a lot of research about Canada and its education system. Prior knowledge about the foreign country where you’ll be studying not only helps you to understand the new culture and people, but also makes you adjust to the new surroundings. As Student Liaison Group, we shall ensure you prep you for this new experience.

Getting ready to live abroad

Canada is a multicultural nation. The people, languages, cultures, food transportation, and weather will all be new to you and you may find yourself clueless in social settings. But this shouldn’t scare you as you will find many students new to all this just like you. Make new friends, ask when in doubt and make the best out of your study abroad experience.

The Weather

As you plan to study in Canada, the weather is something you must keep in mind. Be ready to buy a good winter jacket, scarfs, hat and gloves for the colder months coming up. A pair of good Water proof winter boots would also be a great idea.

Scholarships for international students

Winning a scholarship to study in Canada is a great way to escape the high costs of studying abroad. However, before you apply for a scholarship to finance your studies in Canada, you must first know of the options available to you. This shouldn’t worry because as Student Liaison Group we have qualified education counselors who will guide you every step of the way.

Earn while you learn

You have a chance to make some dime as you study. There are a number of part time jobs available for students. Then when you complete your studies you have the option of getting a full time job.

There are two official languages in Canada

English and French are the official languages in Canada. The majority of French speakers in Canada reside in the province of Quebec, so if you are studying in this region you will likely be required to learn French, in addition to your English language skills. Both languages however are used in the country’s federal government institutions.
